Cosmetics OEM & ODM, What's the Difference?

Key Information You Must Know
Before Starting a Brand

If you want to start
a cosmetics brand but are hesitant
to run your own factory?
The 'OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)'
and 'ODM (Original Design Manufacturer)'
methods may be the answer.

What is OEM?

OEM is a method in which
a brand plans and designs
a product and outsources manufacturing
to an external company.

For example,
if I send a cosmetic recipe
that I created to a manufacturer,
that manufacturer will produce
the product under my brand name.

What is ODM?
ODM is when the manufacturer
is in charge of the entire process
from product planning
to development and production.

The brand simply selects
the product proposed
by the manufacturer
and attaches its logo.

This method is especially
advantageous for entrepreneurs
who lack product development experience.
